Deepika Padukone’s Padmaavat did a good business on the second Monday as well, after entering the 200 crore club!
The delay in the release of the film seems to have just helped in the collections of Padmaavat. As the film continues to stand strong in its second week as well. The Deepika Padukone starrer has definitely won the hearts of the audience. And the box office collections are a proof of it.
Padmaavat had already entered the Rs 100 crore club after its first week. The overall collection of the film in its first week was around Rs 159.5 crore. The long weekend including the Republic Day had helped a lot in the film’s business.
And the second week got an equally good start with the collections of Friday reaching around Rs 9.5 crore. The film’s business on Saturday was Rs 15.5 crore and that on Sunday was Rs 18.5 crore. This made Padmaavat enter the Rs 200 crore club.
This was very much expected from the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial. And also because of the grandeur of the movie as well the iconic performances given by the stars. Yesterday was the second Monday of the film in the cinema halls. And the day went well with the film grossing around Rs 6 crore.
This makes the grand total collection of Padmaavat to be Rs 209 crore!
It is expected that the collections will reach the mark of Rs 225 crore after the second week is over. After which Akshay Kumar’s Pad Man will take over the cinema halls. But Padmaavat is still expected to have a good hold in the third week as well. And will most probably reach the 250 crore mark!
Padmaavat, starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, was released on January 25, this year. The film is based on the life of Queen Padmini.
