Ridiculous things happen in our country and after the not-so-needed drama around Padmavati (oops, correction – Padmaavat) we are here with yet another ridiculous story around it.
The movie has been re-submitted for censorship with the demanded modifications but apparently, one edit is still remaining. Deepika Padukone’s tummy peeping out of the ghagra choli in Ghoomar song is offensive to few souls, of course, they surely have no logic behind it but since things cannot settle until film releases, they will continue to make an issue. So here you go:
As per a leading website, a source quoted during the screening, “The CBFC’s Examining Committee asked the film’s producers — as the director was not present during the censor screening — to remove the shots where her stomach was visible. However such editing would have disturbed the smooth choreographic flow of the elegant dance number. The director preferred to conceal Deepika’s belly through computer graphics,”
The film has been resubmitted with the changes but it hasn’t got its censor certificate yet.
The source gave out some details on the CBFC’s viewing of Padmavati and revealed, “The screening and the discussion post the screening went on from 5 pm until almost 2 am. CBFC chairperson Prasoon Joshi was present there. The historians and royal representatives raised many objections. But the board members of the CBFC found nothing objectionable in the content. They recommended a ‘UA’ with minor modifications.”
Well, the movie will release on Jan 25th 2018 along with Padman, what do you guys have to say about this new development? Let us know in the comments section
