Gal Gadot, who became the instant world wide crush post the release of the blockbuster movie Wonder Woman, has refused to act in the sequel to the movie because of a person. The actress did not agree to signing on to the sequel if the Hollywood producer, Brett Ratner, who was recently accused of sexual harassment and homophobia, continues to remain a producer for WW. Read on to know all about it…
Our Monday blues were back as soon as we read that the actress Gal Gadont won’t be acting in the sequel to Wonder Woman and the reason behind it is the defamed producer Brett Ratner. Ratner, who had been accused of sexual harassment off lately, is one of the producers for the first installment for which he minted heavy profits. The 32 year old actress clearly does not want a person who has had a history with sexual abuse to gain profits anymore. The actress has also made the same quite evident to Warner Bros as well who also happen to be the producers on the project along with Ratner.
A source inside the Warner Bros company was quoted saying, “Brett made a lot of money from the success of ‘Wonder Woman’, thanks to his company having helped finance the first movie. Now Gadot is saying she won’t sign for the sequel unless Warner Bros buys Brett out (of his financing deal) and gets rid of him. She also knows the best way to hit people like Brett Ratner is in the wallet. She also knows that Warner Bros has to side with her on this issue as it develops.”
“They can’t have a movie rooted in women’s empowerment being part-financed by a man – accused of sexual misconduct against women,” added the source.
Gadot also backed out of attending an awards function which was honoring Ratner a few weeks back. Being known as a woman of principles, Gadot has her stand clear. We feel that the movie’s sequel can’t be imagined without Gadot playing the titular role as she has made a benchmark as the fictional character which was phenomenal. What do you guys think?
