With a poor collection on its first day, A Gentleman has grossed 3.75 crore nett apprx and it’s already pretty evident that it cannot be recovered from this position. Though the makers have lost quite a lot on the budget for the movie, it doesn’t make a difference as the directors have a record of not so good movies and this doesn’t quite make any cuts on the box office as well.
Though the film had a glossy turnabout and quite the scenes of action in it, the audience could not be bluffed about, as most didn’t turn up.
Muskurahatein hardly collected 5 lakhs nett on day one. Qaidi Band as well as Sniff, both had a weak collection roundabout of 10 lakhs. Even though Sniff, is a children’s film and can grow well on Saturday, it will hardly make any difference.
In comparison to these films at the box office, Babumoshai Bandookbaaz opened poorly at 1.25 crore nett, but better amongst all, the film is quite similar to the atmosphere and storyline of that, of Gangs of Wasseypur films.
They didn’t work out even with media support, this is going through the same patch. On contrary though, this is one of the best amongst all week’s releases.
