Dear Indian Government, Are You Guys Really Wanting Several Women Showing Their Menstruation Blood Along With Bindis And Sindoor?

So honestly, it is ok to have blood stains on your clothes but getting your bindis and sindoor is the utmost important thing.

The provisions under the Goods and Services Tax announced on May 18 makes it clear that sindoor, bangles, and bindis are now exempt from taxes.

That’s great. No seriously, a woman finally has something to look forward to and something so amazing that we can probably now jump in joy. But wait, right down there, we are bleeding souls. Considerably impure during those 5 days, in pain, staggering with sudden highs and lows in our mood. Well, that’s how society describes menstruation.

So, let’s talk about periods, the taboo topic. So much so that this ‘so-called’ (as described by the society) nature’s curse is actually made to feel like one. Our government has also taken a considerate step in making our menstruation feel like the most ‘unwanted’.

Well, this is how you ignore pleas, request, and appeals. If you guys don’t know, there were several attempts by internet celebs and popular stars taking up the initiative of #LahuKaLagaan. There were many pleas to Mr.Jaitley to exempt taxes on sanitary napkins.

To all those women out there, your words have fallen on deaf ears. Let us be realists, how could we ever think that 12 % tax on sanitary napkin is anything that government can consider as an exemption. Did those poor women suffering every month, literally bare open their undergarment and show the leaves, sands or whatever alternative they use to our Indian government and reveal how their impure blood is the cause of giving life.

Well, let us talk about it then. We symbolize our marriage with bindis and sindoor and bangles, it is mandatory that every woman has access to these, but let us believe in the power of symbolizing then.

Mr. Jaitley looks like words haven’t reached you but we sincerely hope the bindis and sindoor can help us in hiding the blood clots on our clothes if in case we can’t afford the napkins. Let us symbolize the impure blood as a mark. Let us just show you that we are in those 5 days.

Let us symbolize the impure blood as a mark. Let us just show you that we are in those 5 days and symbolize it with blood stain, will then the government take the necessary step?

It is time for women to take charge and literally make things get it done! like literally.
