Box Office: Phillauri Is Unexpectedly Good On Its First Monday

Phillauri starring Anushka Sharma as the cutest Bhoot Sashi is surely creating a positive mark in everyone’s mind. Anushka Sharma’s production house is backing good scripts and after NH10, which was a dark movie, Phillauri is refreshing.

The reviews that have come out is all praises for the performances, script, and story. The movie is a small budget film with 21 Crore that includes both marketing and distribution. The satellite rights have been sold for 12 Crore so the film has to recover 9 Crore only to reach the breakeven.

The first-day report is out and it is not that bad. The opening in the Northside is quite decent especially in the multiplexes of Punjab and Delhi with around 30-35%. However, the collections are a little on the low side in other areas. Mumbai plays an important role since there can’t be many expectations from the East and South side of the country.

Day 1: Friday 

The First-day collections are out and are quite good. The film has minted 4.02 crores on day one. As per trade analysis, anything above 3 Crore for the medium budget movie like Phillauri is good.

Day 2: Saturday 

The Second Day Collections are out and there is an improvement for sure. The movie has made 5.20 Crore, going strong in North areas. The total 2-day collections – 9.22 Crore. Sunday expected to be better.

Day 3: Sunday

The Sunday collections are superb, the movie has made 6.03 Crore. The total business of the first weekend is 15.25 Crore.

Day 4: Monday 

Monday saw a little dip in its collection. The amount it collected 2.02 Crore, Total – 17.27 Crore

The movie is also having a local appeal which is good for the northern areas but a major lacking for other areas in our country especially south.

The movie is predicted to grow in the coming weekend. The word of mouth plays an important role, the movie has a likeability factor and its good for family entertainment.
