“Raees” has been able to make its presence felt both in India as well as at the International Circuit. The action drama is already on the verge of crossing 50 crores at the domestic market but is also doing exceptionally well in the Overseas box office.
“Raees” had a strong start in Uniked Kingdom minting £126,000 on its first day from just 90 locations beating “Dangal” which earned £121,000 from 152 locations. In USA-Canada, “Raees” was mindblowing collecting $375,000 from 275 locations again defeating “Dangal” which earned $328,227 from 331 locations. “Raees” could not beat the record of “Sultan” which grossed $502,742 from 261 locations and “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” which collected $387,431 from 284 locations.
The budget of “Raees” is Rs 95 crores (Production cost is Rs 75 crores + 20 Crores spent on the promotion and marketing). Out of this, amount recovered is Rs 60 crores ( Satellite rights + music rights). “Raees” will need atleast Rs 120 crores to be called hit and Rs 150 crores to be called a profitable venture if the content turns out to be good.
