“Raees” is on the record breaking spree. The action entertainer is unstoppable and is on the verge of breaking records left and right. Republic Day being a national holiday, “Raees” has become the highest earner ever in the history of Bollywood.
“Raees” opened to around 55-60% occupancy in the morning show all over India. The occupancy increased to 65% in the noon show while biz spiked in the evening and night shows with around 80% occupancy bringing a solid total to Rs 20.42. “Raees” had a great start in the morning show with occupancy to around 80-90% at some places on the Repblic Day. The action-drama was the best in Kolkata, Mumbai and Ahemdabad bringing a total of Rs 26.30 crores on its second day which was good enough to beat Salman Khan starrer “Jai Ho” which minted Rs 26.25 crores and Hrithik Roshan’s “Agneepath”.
The budget of “Raees” is Rs 95 crores (Production cost is Rs 75 crores + 20 Crores spent on the promotion and marketing). Out of this, amount recovered is Rs 60 crores ( Satellite rights + music rights). “Raees” will need atleast Rs 120 crores to be called hit and Rs 150 crores to be called a profitable venture if the content turns out to be good.
