ROBERT, KRISTEN TO TEAM UP AGAIN FOR A TWILIGHT REBOOT?
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart gave several couples major relationship goals when they essayed the roles of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan in the hit Twilight franchise. What made it interesting was the fact that the actors were dating off-screen as well. But post their famous breakup in 2012, the duo has not been seen together on screen.
However, in a recent interview with Loinsgate co-chairman Patrick Wachsberger, who produced the Twilight franchise, a possibility of the ex-couple coming back for another Twilight film was talked about.
Wachsberger, while not confirming anything, did hint at the possibility of another film from the famous vampire franchise. “It’s a possibility,” he noted, adding that if author Stephanie Meyer, whose novels paved way for the franchise, wrote another novel, Lionsgate would produce it.
It’s about Stephenie [novelist Stephenie Meyer]. If she wants to tell a story related to those characters we’re here for her,” Wachsberger said.
As per Cinema Blend, the current scenario does leave quite a lot of scope for another Twilight film, and should Meyer put her mind and pen to it, another Twilight novel is not a distinct possibility, where the scenario post the events of Breaking Dawn: Part 2 could be visited.
But even then, another major factor that needs to be considered for this possibility to bear fruition is whether Robert and Kristen would like to work together and reprise their characters. Last heard, the actors had vocally expressed disinterest in reprising their roles as Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. Fans of the couple also believe that their high profile breakup will indeed prevent them from working together.
