With 7 Days For Ok Jaanu’s Release, Here Are 7 Reasons We Think Its Worth Your While

The Aditya Roy Kapoor- Shraddha Kapoor starrer Ok Jaanu is hardly a week away from it’s release. While the film, a remake of Mani Ratnam’s original Tamil venture, Ok Kanmani, has generated quite a buzz, thanks to the Humma song and the hit pairing of Aditya and Shraddha after Aashiqui 2, we are hardly able to contain our excitement over its release.

Since we are exactly 7 days away from the release of the film, we are pretty sure you’ve already started making plans for the weekend and are wondering if Ok Jaanu should be a part of them. We say, yes! And this is why!

1. ADITYA-SHRADDHA BACK TOGETHER

While Aashiqui 2 saw them in much more intense roles, Aditya and Shraddha will be seen in a much more lighter vein and chirpier roles in Ok Jaanu. And though the audiences fell in love with their intense romance and amazing chemistry in their earlier venture, it would be a refreshing change to see them in Ok Jaanu, having fun, fooling around and just being like any other everyday Mumbaiya couple in the film.

2. A.R RAHMAN’S MUSIC AND THE HUMMA SONG

While the title track of Ok Jaanu has caught on with the youngsters in a big way, we all know how the Mozart of Madras can liven up a scene with his amazing background scores. And since he is very much in-charge, we can’t wait to see how he has woven his magic in the film. Rahman’s music often outshines a film. Remember Ek Deewana Tha? Also, with the reprised version of Humma Humma rocking the airwaves, one can expect  a fairly large turn out at the theatres.

3. THE CITY OF DREAMS, MUMBAI!

If you have seen the title track of Ok Jaanu, you’d know that the city is just not a backdrop but a character in itself in the film. Making the Maximum City look beautiful and even picturesque in its frames, Ok Jaanu is sure to resonate with several residents of the city. If you are new to the city or have lived here long enough to fall in love with it, we strongly recommend you see the film.

4. THE SUCCESS OF THE ORIGINAL MOVIE

The original movie, Ok Kanmani, helmed by Mani Ratnam, was a resounding success. That proves that the story is something to look forward to. And isn’t that what is really missing in most of the films currently? A good story. So, if you are in the mood to see one, we’d say Ok Jaanu is tailor made for your weekend!

5. PYAAR YA CAREER?

Have you ever been caught up in this tussle? When two equally important facets of your life lock horns with each other and the onus of making one of them the winner falls upon you, what do you do? Probably Ok Jaanu, which deals with the same issue, can offer you a solution or at least, a fresh perspective on this choice between career v/s love.

6. LIVE-IN RELATIONSHIPS

Yes, we all remember Salaam Namaste, right? The film, back then, had generated quite a lot of hooplah due to the live-in relationship theme that it addressed in its story. After all these years, Ok Jaanu is all set to reprise it and there has been quite a shift n the society’s outlook towards it from then. The number of live-in relationships has increased and yet society is yet to come to terms with it completely. What facet of this scenario will Ok Jaanu show? We’ll only know when the film releases!

7. NASEER SIR’S CHEMISTRY WITH ADITYA- SHRADDHA

We all know the brilliance that is Naseeruddin Shah. From the trailer, he seems to blend in really well with Aditya and Shraddha in the film and it will be interesting to see their camaraderie in the film. Naseer sir is likely to act as the guardian, the advicer for both Aditya and Shraddha in the film. How will his presence affect Adi and Tara’s story? Let’s wait and watch!
