“Dangal” is on recording spree. The wrestling drama is creating new record each and every day owing to its dynamic content which is driving audience to theaters and in few places repeated viewing is happening as well.
The four days collections were good enough to put “Dangal” in spotlight by becoming the third highest grosser of 2016 beating Akshay Kumar’s “Airlift” which earned a lifetime collection of Rs 129 at the domestic box office.
The morning show occupancy on Tuesday was pretty good as compared to the Monday collections dipping only by only 10%. The wrestling drama is keeping its head high above the heel in places like Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and UP due to the tax-free status. Since the word of mouth is extremely positive, the single screen theaters have started performing with no demonetization effect. The business escalated by evening and night shows which brought the Tuesday collections to Rs 23.07 crores bringing an eye-popping collection to a total of Rs 155.53. With this total, “Dangal” is now officially the second highest grosser of 2016 beating Sushant Singh Rajput starrer “M.S.Dhoni: The Untold Story” which earned Rs 133.04 crores.
The total five days collections is good enough for “Dangal” to cross Rs 150 crores milestone making it fastest film along with “Sultan”, “Dhoom 3” and “PK” to achieve that feat.
