As the the romantic drama “Dear Zindagi” won rave reviews for its well-intentioned message, the Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan starrer had enough steam to run at the box office.
“Dear Zindagi” had a fantastic first week with Rs 47 crores. However the collections started further dropping with each passing bringing the total number to Rs 61.49 crores at the end of its second week. The collections did drop on its third weekend thanks to big release, the Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor starrer “Befikre” which dominated the first weekend multiplexes with Rs 34.36 crores. “Dear Zindagi” did badly on Friday with Rs 55 lacs, climbed up to Rs 1.10 crores on Saturday and did better on Sunday with Rs 1.30 crores scoring a total of Rs 64.44 crores on its third weekend. With weekdays collections, the total collection at the end of its third week is Rs 65 crores nett.
With fourth weekend collections coming to around 2 crores, the total collections of “Dear Zindagi” stands at Rs 67 crores and might be able to beat Amitabh Bachchan starrer “Pink” which collected Rs 68 crores in its life time.
