So, Yash Raj Films has announced the sequel to it’s hugely popular Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Salman-Katrina fans are already in a frenzy! The film will reportedly pick up from where the first one ended and adding to the excitement is news that Katrina will play a negative character, far from the lovelorn character she played in the first film.
So. Salman, Katrina, YRF. Do you see a blockbuster already? Well, with good reason. Here’s why we think Tiger Zinda Hai will be a roaring hit at the box office.
# One word. Salman. If you aren’t familiar with the box office power of Salman Khan yet, after Sultan, the Dabanng franchise, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and many others, get ready to experience it in full blast with Tiger Zinda Hai. The man can carry the film on his little finger, shoulders be damned.
# Katrina Kaif, last seen in the drab Fitoor, will be feeding off a hungry audience eager to see her with her ex-beau with whom she had a crackling chemistry in Ek Tha Tiger. Every Bhai fan is also a Katrina fan, even after their break-up. They are India’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith, now even more so, with Angie & Brad’s break- up!
# Ali Abbas Zafar, having tasted success with Salman in Sultan, will take over the reigns from Kabir Khan and direct the superstar yet again. The duo are familiar with each other’s working styles and together, they can surely build a bockbuster.
# The Salman-YRF combo has always dealt a deadly blow in Bollywood. This has only been reaffirmed with Sultan. Trust YRF to deploy all of its massive marketing, promotions and strategy power in ensuring Tiger Zinda Hai gets an opening befitting its legacy.
# The film has a patriotic theme. Remember your childhood and Sunny Deol films? How you were more (if not equally) pumped up than Sunny Deol when he screamed Jai Hind and destroyed the anti-nationals? Well, Salman and patriotism make for a similar combo. Can you imagine the reaction of Bhai fans when HE saves the country from anti-nationals! Wait for Tiger Zinda Hai, you’ll see!
# Also, with a release date currently scheduled for 22nd December 2017, the movie will benefit from a long Christmas holiday. Wonder what Aamir Khan has up his sleeve this time!
So, there you have it. Unless Salman comes up with another court case before the film’s release or decides to rope in Fawad Khan for a cameo, we are pretty sure Tiger Zinda Hai will hit the bullseye!
